Use the Edonkey Network with Amule Daemon And AmuleWeb
# OS: Ubuntu 8.04 desktop
sudo apt-get install amule-daemon
# edit /etc/default/amule-daemon to set home directory
[ExternalConnect]
AcceptExternalConnections=<Set this to 1>
ECPassword=<Enter hash here, for howto read on>
# The ECPassword is the md5sum of the password you want, to get the md5sum, enter the following in another terminal:
echo -n <yourpassword> | md5sum | cut -d ' ' -f 1
# Copy the output and paste it in the ECPassword = <paste it here>.
# Enable the amule web server.
[WebServer]
Enabled=<Set this to 1>
Password=<Enter hash here, for howto read on>
amuleweb -w
# edit remote.conf
[EC]
